With our Koh Samui Retreat fast approaching, we thought we'd take a moment to introduce you to our newest member of the New Horizon Guest Coach squad. So without further adieu, Ladies and gentlemen I give you the amazing Miss Shona Vertue! (Insert crowd roaring here!)
Let's face it there's a lot of false prophets out there in the world of Instagram and Social Media "influencers", and especially dominant in this world are women that have become more popular for having a talent for standing in a particular way that accentuates their posterior, rather than being celebrated for their message, achievements or accolades.
Now don't get me wrong, i'm by no means saying that one shouldn't show off the body they are blessed with. Quite the contrary, I very much advocate being proud of your body no matter what your shape. My issue is with those that wish to mislead people by telling them that they grew their booty by 3 inches in a week by doing the 100 squat challenge and drinking Slimming Teas!
Shona Vertue is an example of a woman that has earned her physique through decades of hard work, perseverance and self education, all starting as a small child where she trained as a classical dancer and elite gymnast back in Sydney Australia. From these disciplines she recognised the huge benefits to building a strong, stable and flexible foundation in order to improve her craft but also to prevent injuries.
As Shona began working with world-renowned Strength & Conditioning Coaches, as well as acclaimed international Yoga & Meditation teachers for her own development, she soon realised what huge potential there was to share her knowledge and expertise with the general public, by developing a training method that not only promotes the use of Strength Training to men and women alike, but also focusses on the importance of flexibility and mobility through movement. This was the birth of "The Vertue Method"!
Shona moved to London in 2014 where she built a successful Personal Training business helping the over-worked and over-stressed population to move, breathe and improve their health & wellbeing. This is also where she started teaching her newly developed "Vertue Method" where she promised clients that she could both uplift their souls and their butts by combining resistance training, Yoga and mediation for an over all balance of health & fitness.
In just a few weeks of her online workout videos going live she sold to 43 different countries across the globe, and now represents Global fitness-wear giant New Balance. This collaboration has given her the opportunity to teach her now famous "Vertue Method" in their Flagship store in Oxford Street London and touch the lives of as many people as possible.
To top all of this off, her debut book "The Vertue Method" hit shelves on 1st of June, and is set to be a huge success in spreading the word of her three key pillars of health: LIFT, LENGTHEN & NOURISH.
What can I say, this woman is what we believe to be a true representation of how health & fitness should be. She whole heartedly teaches balance in life, as well as in training, and she does so with a huge smile on her face and a warm, infectious positive energy radiating from her every pore. We couldn't be more excited to work with her, and help "The Vertue Method" spread to every corner of the earth!
